How can I avoid the extra tonnage charge?
Customers should be mindful regarding what is placed in their bin. Do not overfill the bin. On an average, keep garbage within 1 foot of the top of the bin. Some material is heavier by nature and heavier when wet. Call us at 780-718-7908 to discuss your options.
How much room is needed to drop off and pick up a bin?
We will need approximately 60 to 80 feet of space for our truck to back in. The entrance to where the bin will be placed must be at least 10 feet wide.
Can I place my bin on the road in front of my house?
Yes, but a permit is required from the City of Edmonton. We can arrange this for you. In surrounding communities outside of Edmonton, we aren’t able to provide permits for street placement.
Can you place the bin on my front lawn?
Yes, we can, but we do not recommend this due to possible damage to the sidewalk and to your landscaping. Sometimes our customers lay plywood to alleviate damage.
How do I order a bin?

We accept payment by cheque, credit card, PayPal and E-transfer.
How soon do I have to reserve a bin and when is it delivered?
An advanced notice of 2 days is appreciated. We strive to serve you within 24 hours.
Do I have to be home when the bin is delivered?
No. Provide us with detailed instructions regarding where you would like us to place the bin. If we cannot deliver it as you request, we will contact you to discuss alternative options.
Do I have to call or does Bins by Jo Ltd. pick up the bin automatically?
Unless you have set up a pre-arranged time for pick-up, we don’t collect bin until you contact us and confirm arrangements.
Will the bin damage my driveway?
Our bins have wheels on the bottom to make it easier to roll the bin smoothly into place. The bins are nevertheless very heavy and may cause damage. To lessen potential damage, you can place a flat piece of plywood under the bin.
How much am I allowed to throw in the bin?
You can fill the bin to the top, so long as nothing is sticking out or overflowing from the top. Please note that we are restricted by transport regulations on truck weight.
Am I allowed to move the bin?
No. You will be held responsible for any damage to done to the bin, the driveway or landscape. We may not be able to pick up the bin if the customer moves it.
Where can a portable toilet be placed?
Anywhere where the ground is flat and we are able to access with our service truck. Special consideration must be taken during heavy rain or frost.
What colour are the toilets?
Our units are blue.
What is the optimal ratio of people to toilets on a worksite?
Generally speaking, 1 toilet is enough for 8 to 10 employees working a normal 40-hour week.
What comes with your toilets?
Toilets come stocked with toilet paper and hand sanitizer. A weekly cleaning of the unit is also included in the price.
Why would I need a portable toilet for a residential home?
There may be many reasons to order portable toilets, including house construction, family reunions, family anniversary celebrations, an estate sale, and fundraising events, to name but a few. If you are having contractors working at your home, it may be safer and easier to have them use a portable toilet rather than come in and out of your house when you are not there.
How long can I rent a portable toilet for?
Daily, weekend, weekly or monthly rates apply.
Where can a temporary fence be installed?
Temporary fence or construction fencing can be put almost anywhere for any reasons. Keep in mind factors like steep grade, terrain and more.
Why would I need to rent temporary fencing?
Some reasons include construction, home renovation, landscaping in your yard, to protect your children or neighbours from possible harm from tools, and more.
